I'm not the type to continually check how much I've sold. Pessimist? When it comes to this self publishing stuff?
Damn right.
I hadn't checked my Smashwords dashboard in quite a while, but I was reading through this post on J. A. Marlowe's blog (the first of two excellent posts on the subject of Smashwords) when I figured, why not?
Hadn't checked it since the middle of last month.
And, lo and behold...I sold 1 copy!!!!!!!!!
After the depressing news here at work, this was a welcome ray of sunshine.
Not that I'm ready to quit my day job, lol, but it's just nice to see something positive.
Back to work...

Enjoy the warm feeling, and many happy returns ... oh, sales.
Congrats! :)
Congrats! May it be the first of many. :D

Congratulations! :) I don't sell a lot at Smashwords, but if I do giveaways for one of my ebooks there (with the coupons), that'll often create sales of other ebooks. :)
THANKS all! It's great to finally get that over with - and I have a separate post thanking YOU for your support.
Without your support, it wouldn't be worth doing this blog. Hell, it wouldn't be worth putting my stuff out there.
:-)
You have to sell a first copy to sell a second...congratulations on overcoming that first hump. It's all champagne and brownies from here on out.
OK, maybe not. It's a lot of work.
Still, it's wonderful to know you're being read. :-)
One of these days I'm going to put up a new title.
Best,
Nick
