Pronoun Trouble

Sorry if I haven't been paying much attention to my blog lately; my temp job has kept me very busy the past two weeks or so.

I grew up on Looney Tunes, and sometimes I've scared my husband by knowing what particular cartoon it is just by the music.  No, seriously. :-)

::shrug::  I'm a whack job, so what else is new? ;-)

Anyhoo, this is one of my faves in the Daffy/Bugs/Elmer series of cartoons done by Chuck Jones.  (He did all the Road Runner cartoons until the late 60s, when he'd moved on to doing Tom & Jerry cartoons.)  And, yes, Daffy actually does say, "Hmm...pronoun trouble!" in this part of the clip.

And gets the smell of cordite in his feathers for being anal about English (reminds me of me - minus the cordite, of course ;-)).

Fun, fun, fun!

That's one of my favorite Warner cartoons, and one of my favorite parts, although the whole thing rocks. :D

LOL...it's a shame that we don't see more Looney Tunes on TV nowadays. I remember it being a staple of my childhood -- every day on some channel you could laugh for a while and disappear into the inane madness of Daffy Duck and Bugs Bunny.

INCIDENTALLY...I think I came up with a pretty cool character arc for Daffy Duck. In the beginning, he was a completely insane character, hopping around and kissing people and just all around acting spastic -- and happy. He never had a frown on his face.

Then, later on, he becomes an almost brooding, greedy and miserable character. I think this is because he went to therapy and they "straightened" his head out.

Insane, he is happy. Brought back down to Earth, he is miserable.

Do I think about Looney Tunes too much?

Only time will tell . . . ;-)

Yours will definitely be on mine when I finally get it online!

Take care and have a good weekend!

Nick,

Same here; Looney Tunes was a Saturday morning staple.

Do you get Cartoon Network? If you manage to get up at 6:00am on Saturdays...they have a half hour of Looney Tunes on. I just found out yesterday, when I happened to wake up and stumble downstairs at that time.

Daffy Duck - As the original creator and director, Bob Clampett, envisioned Daffy, he was just that, a nutzoid, kind of as the anti-Disney version of a cartoon duck. When Chuck Jones got hold of him, he was more into the psychological make up behind the cartoon character, so Daffy was turned into what most people think of him today: crazy greedy, no bouncing around necessary ;-).

As you can tell, I've got a serious problem. ;-)
